Total! Normal? is a play created as part of the project Kreativ Inklusiv. It was performed as a relaxed performance with creative captions in simple language.
A play that takes you into the unpredictable currents of the waters of society. Swimming along with the norm-aal (Aal is eel in german), navigating through valleys of social norms, diving deep into the dream of a place where everyone can just be as they are. How would a society feel like, where there is no pressure to fit into the tiny boxes of norms?
Together with the audience, we dive into a colorful underwater world. There we encounter extraordinary, highly individualistic underwater creatures and fall into the clutches of the Norm Eel - a terrifying creature that always swims with the current. The “Norm Eel” pulls us into the stream of society, where we navigate the valleys of social norms and dive deep into the dream of a place where every person can be who they really are. The overarching question is: How does a society without norms feel like?
The play was developed collaboratively by 18 young people with different abilities. Jannina Brosowsky led the artistic process and the group. The idea for the project, for the development of Creative Captions and the Relaxed Performance, was conceived by Jannina Brosowsky and implemented with the support of a large team. Many thanks to every single person who was part of the process and enabled performances of Total! Normal?
The play was created as part of the project Kreativ Inklusiv funded by Berliner Projektfonds Kulturelle Bildung.

"Kreativ Inklusiv" is a participatory project that explored how access to theatre can be facilitated, revolving around the questions: What is normal and who determines that? With the support of creative captioning, simple language and other means, this project brought together what belongs together: theatre-loving people who kicked the concept of "normal" - with their various abilities - up the ass.

The Cradle of Creativity was the 19th world congress and festival for theatre for children and youth, hosted by ASSITEJ South Africa in 2017. More than 5000 children gained in this context access to some of the over 70 productions from around the world that were showcased during the festival. Artists and delegates from more than 60 countries gathered in Cape Town and its nearby Townships to enjoy and discuss the present and the future of Theatre for Young Audiences.
Jannina Brosowsky was part of the team that organized this unique event. Inbetween maintaining Excel spreadsheets, coordinating and planning programs for students from all over the world, and leading theater education workshops in schools, Jannina worked with young people from Vrygrond to develop a performance for the opening ceremony. This was Jannina's absolute highlight. 'Dreams' was a brief insight into the desires and hopes of the local youth: to overcome the past and create a bright future in equality together.

Gemeinsamkeit means togetherness in German. Einsamkeit (which makes half of the word GemEINSAMKEIT) means loneliness. What is the correlation of loneliness and togetherness? Why are people living, separated from the mainstream society, without a home, unprotected in Berlin's streets and why do some people even prefer this lifestyle in contrast to comfortably living in a flat?
In this project, Jannina Brosowsky and a small group of young people set out to find answers to questions about homelessness.
Through a city tour with QUERSTADTEIN and interviews with people who currently live or have lived on the streets, the group gained direct insights into realities of life that many people pass by in their everyday lives. This resulted in a specially conceived low-budget documentary film that captures voices and stories that are otherwise rarely heard.
Based on these encounters, the group then developed a play. It tells of the search for belonging, community, and a chosen family on the streets - but also of the desire for freedom and independence. The storytelling focuses on people with their dreams, struggles, and unique life paths, and the question of why so many fall through the cracks in our system.

As a freelancer, I enjoy working across different disciplines - other things I am doing are:
* Education and Training
I facilitate training on “Aesthetics of Access,”
Relaxed Performances,
Creative Captions,
accessible theater education formats, and
relaxed workshop settings.
* Media-education
Since 2018, I have been working as a media educator with a focus on gender-reflective media education, creative workshops (film, photography, podcasts/radio plays), and consulting. I work directly with children and young people, as well as in training courses or consultations with professionals.
* Art and Cultural Education
For the Berlin Biennale 2025, I developed a concept for an event tailored for people who prefer to view art without the hustle and bustle of everyday museum life. This resulted in the Silent Hours - the museum was only opened for a small group and a tour was offered in simple language.
* Theatre as an Educational Tool
I developed language learning workshops at Berlin elementary schools for children with refugee or migration backgrounds. The approach was based on the cultural diversity of the group and used theater as a means of building bridges between different cultural and social understandings and overcoming language barriers. In addition to language acquisition, one of the main goals was to strengthen the participants' self-confidence.
